Breastfeeding is natural—but that doesn’t always mean it comes naturally.
Feeding is something you and your baby learn together, and challenges along the way are common. Sometimes a little guidance is all that is needed. Other times, we need to look more closely at how your baby is latching, sucking, moving and positioning their body during feeding.

Where Lactation Meets Bodywork - Sometimes the difficulty isn’t just the latch
A baby who consistently turns their head to one side, feels tight through the neck or body, or has difficulty getting comfortable in certain feeding positions may also have a harder time nursing comfortably and effectively. With a background in both lactation care and European osteopathy/ Craniosacral Therapy, Janine can look at feeding from both perspectives—assessing the breastfeeding relationship while also considering baby’s movement, positioning and areas of physical tension. Hands-on bodywork may be incorporated when appropriate, using gentle techniques tailored specifically to infants.
Tongue-Tie & Oral Function
When tongue-tie is suspected, the goal isn’t simply to identify a “tie”—it’s to understand how your baby is functioning. Janine has pursued continuing education in tongue-tie, oral function and post-release care, including training with Melissa Cole and Alison Hazelbaker, as well as professional tongue-tie symposiums and conferences. When a release is recommended by an appropriate provider, lactation support and individualized oral-motor exercises can help your baby learn to use their new range of motion effectively.
